The legend of the bluebird of happiness is very ancient and one that exists in many cultures. The bluebird is a symbol of happiness, prosperity, good health and renewal. These are qualities that are perfect for this holiday season of love and family and inspired me to create this ensemble.
The fabric of the coat, imported from England, depicts cheerful bluebirds perched in an old fashioned Christmas tree decked with flowers and stars. French blue silk taffeta lines the coat and makes up the shawl collar. The coat can be worn open or closed and is adorned with pearl buttons.
An elegant sheath in jade silk taffeta complements the French blue lining, sporting tiny pearls at the shoulders and crystal buckle and French blue silk bow at the waist.
An extravagant platter hat (attaches to the hair with straight pins) in French blue silk is covered in sparkly blue tulle in which nestles a tiny rose pink bird.
This ensemble is modeled by the stunning Tribute Silkstone and includes the coat, sheath and hat. It does not include the shoes, doll or backdrop props.
