Tropical Skirt Set and Pear and Turquoise Skirt Set

These floral sets consist of an off the shoulder peplum top with a ruched bust and a pencil skirt. Tropical has all the bright colors of a sun drenched isle, with a bright pink silk noil skirt. A band of the floral fabric at the hem hints at the secret of this skirt; it is reversible! So you get two looks in one. A magenta purple silk bow belt defines the waist. Pear and Turquoise set has a turquoise silk noil skirt with a floral band at the bottom. A pear green silk bow belt adds interest.

Buttercup Skirt Set

A flirty skirt set in Liberty of London and silk noil. The top is off the shoulder with a ruched bust, nipped in waist and peplum, made from Liberty of London cotton covered in buttercups, clover, and chamomile flowers. The slim skirt is made from spring green silk noil, which has a nubby texture similar to linen. A bow belt of yellow silk defines the waist.

Moulin Rouge

I like to bring back Bellissima Couture favorites from time to time, and this has been a special design in my repertoire over the years. This manifestation is made from embroidered cream silk. The off the shoulder top has a peplum and a ruched bust highlighted with silver beads and pearls. A ruffle of pale pink tulle finishes the hem of the top. A pale pink silk bow belt defines the waist. A slim pencil skirt completes the ensemble.

Liberty of London Sheath Set

I have had this scrap of fabric in my collection of Liberty for years, so long that I don’t even know the name of it. But the beautiful flowers blooming on this French Blue background seemed perfect for Fashionably Floral, my latest muse. The slim sheath dress is made from the Liberty fabric. A short jacket with bracelet length sleeves is made from Lavender silk noil, fully lined in the floral Liberty cotton. A narrow scarf with hand fringed ends ties loosely in the front (a hidden snap ensures proper placement), decorated with a silver flower pin (removable).

Classic Burberry Party Dress

Dulcissima recently joined my cast of models and is modeling her first dress in Burberry silk. Shades of taupe and charcoal are highlighted with pops of red. The full skirt has layers of red tulle peeking out from the hem. Red silk bows decorate the shoulders.

Liberty of London Party Dress in “Lodden”

Part of Liberty of London’s Classic Tana Lawn range, Lodden, designed by William Morris in 1884, features a melange of lotuses, florals and embellished vines. The colors remind me of an array of Gelato. The perfect party dress for Spring, the full skirt has many layers of lemon yellow sparkle tulle. A lemon silk band and bow detail define the waist.

Liberty of London Floral Bubble Dress

Fashionably Floral Silkstone arrived today and, as is customary, she got a new dress. The tiny floral of the Liberty of London fabric is in shades of rose, bright pink, lavender, and lilac. The dropped waist bodice has a pleated band of lilac silk that defines the bust and then goes over the shoulders forming straps.

Rockabilly Wiggle Dress in Strawberry and Cherry

This lovely fabric got so much love in the Rockabilly party dress, that I made it in the new wiggle style as well. But I continue to modify this pattern as I go. This time, I used my tried and true strapless sheath, which is all one piece, instead of a bodice and a skirt. I think this gives the wiggle dress a cleaner, more form fitting line. I also used red silk for the pleated bust band. The dress is fully lined in black silk.

Rockabilly Wiggle Dress

Using the same bodice and strap pattern as the Rockabilly party dress, this sheath has the close fitting pencil skirt of a wiggle dress. The fabric is white cotton with turquoise polka dots. There is just a hint of stretch in the fabric, resulting in a nice fit. Fully lined in white silk.

Miss Janet Rockabilly Dress in Strawberry and Cherry

A classic silhouette from the 1950s, this dress has a sweetheart bodice, full skirt, and pleated band that defines the bust and transitions to straps. The fabric is a lovely polished cotton in black with a print of wild strawberries, flowers, and cherries. A dark red tulle underskirt gives the flirty skirt fullness.
