I have had this small scrap of cotton fabric in my stash for many years and had just enough to make a sheath dress.  It is a rustic Asian woodblock print in shades of red, gold, and orange on a black ground, perfect for the Autumn months.  The bodice is off the shoulder with a dramatic plunging neckline.  The waist is defined by a pleated, deep orange silk cummerbund.

This flirty dress is made from a print from the Liberty of London Stile collection, which is a heavier cotton than their Tana Lawn.  The ground is navy blue with a wood block print of cream blossoms highlighted with dark orange and dark orange vines.  A perfect dress for the autumn months.

As summer winds down, roses are blooming in abundance here in the Rose City.  This delicate print from Liberty called “Elizabeth” is scattered with pink roses and tiny blue Forget Me Nots, and is as fresh as a summer day.  The strapless dropped waist bodice has a contrasting band of rose pink with a bow at the top.  The skirt is given volume from layers of pale pink tulle.  A jacket of white embroidered tulle with chiffon roses is fully lined in white organza and sports rose pink pearls as buttons.

This is the second fashion in the Chanel series.  Poppy models a pure white ensemble inspired by a look in the Chanel Fall 2015 collection.  The fabric is a cotton pique with a subtle woven diamond pattern.  The cropped, boxy jacket has elbow length sleeves and is fully lined in white silk.  The neckline is thickly hand beaded with a variety of pearls, beads, and crystals.  Delicate black silk ribbon ties at the neckline.  The accompanying strapless sheath is also thickly beaded along the top of the bodice.  A chiffon flower hat with a pearl center is the perfect finishing touch.

132 years ago today, a baby was born in France named Gabrielle Boheur Chanel.  She was later given the name Coco when she sang in Paris nightclubs.  Coco Chanel was credited with liberating women from the constraints of the corseted silhouette and popularizing a sportive, casual chic as the feminine standard of style in the post-World War I era.

This fashion honors Coco by incorporating three of her signature looks: the boxy suit jacket, the little black dress, and the white camellia.  The black and white color scheme and use of pearls are also part of her signature style.

The slim, strapless sheath dress is made from black silk crepe and is decorated with a simple band of white silk at the bodice.  The accompanying jacket is made from black textured raw silk and has the traditional boxy shape and bracelet length sleeves characteristic of Chanel style.  Every edge of the jacket is hand beaded in tiny pearls, as well as the traditional double slash pockets.  An extravagant fascinator style hat features the white camellia with a pouf of black millinery netting.

This fashion is a real one of a kind and will not be made again in this manifestation.

This lovely Liberty fabric is part of the 2015 Spring/Summer line.  It features a watercolor rendition of flowers commonly found in an English garden’ Fox Gloves, Blue Bells and Penstemon in shades of periwinkle, purple, and orchid pink.  The full skirted gown is open on one side to reveal the slim trousers in dark periwinkle blue silk.  A hand fringed sash in orchid pink adds interest to the waist.

This fashion fits most 1/6 scale dolls, although the length is best suited for Victoire or Silkstone dolls.  The pants may not fit dolls with broader hips such as FR2 or Severine/Lalka.
