I have been enjoying working with these new holiday prints for the last few weeks and have put together a little collection of dresses and coats to kick off the Holiday season.  There is one of each design, available on Etsy.

Jul Cat Party Dress

A classic Scandinavian design with a feline twist!  White cats stride alongside stripes of snowflakes, pine trees and other seasonal motifs.  White tulle underskirt for added fullness.

Christmas Kittens Coat Ensemble

This charming print depicts playful white kittens in red hats playing with presents on a forest green ground.  The swing coat is fully lined in red silk and sports oversized faceted glass red buttons.  The coordinating sheath dress has a red silk boat necked top and skirt in the green print.  A narrow belt in red silk with a gold buckle adds interest at the waist.

Candy Cane Rockabilly Dress

This adorable print is from Cotton & Steel and depicts a scattering of red and white candy canes on a bright pink ground.

Black Cherry Party Dress

A simple, yet elegant party dress in dark red, iridescent silk taffeta.  The neckline is trimmed in French Rococo trim in shades of carmine, wine, and olive.  The skirt is given additional volume from layers of black tulle.

Kitten Ornament Coat Ensemble

What could be more festive than sleepy kittens rolled up as Christmas ornaments?  This adorable fabric is from Japan and features kitten heads peeking out of red Christmas ball suits, liberally highlighted with gold.  The shawl collared coat has a pleated front, bracelet length sleeves red glass buttons.  It is fully lined in red silk dupioni, which is also the fabric used for the matching dress.  The dress is strapless and is made of red silk with a fine gold lace overlay.

Peppermint Rockabilly Dress

A refreshing print of red and white peppermints on a black ground.  An unusually striking holiday print.

The Running of the Deer Day Dress

This beautiful print reminds me of the Christmas carol “The Holly and the Ivy” which has the line “O, the rising of the sun, and the running of the deer.  The playing of the merry organ, sweet singing in the Choir!”  Red deer run among winter foliage of oak leaves, berries, and pine boughs.  A red silk sash and bow trim the waist.

Christmas Snowflake Ball Coat Ensemble

To me, this print is everything I love about Christmas fabric, with lots of beautiful, rich colors and a liberal sprinkle of gold.  Small balls in green, white, gold, and red, each containing a perfect snowflake, shower down on a red ground.  The coat is fully lined in iridescent green silk.  Gold and crystal buttons sparkle down the front.  A simple, but elegant green silk party dress completes the look.

If you are a fan of felines, this is the dress for you. Made from a wonderfully soft double gauze fabric from Japan, the sheath depicts a variety of cat breeds in charming ink and watercolor drawings.  The classic sheath is fully lined in ivory silk and sports a chocolate brown velvet belt with gold buckle.

Hello my friends!  This is one of my favorite times of the year for so many reasons.  Everything sparkles, there are delicious smells, and a hint of chill in the frosty air.

I thought it might be nice to present a small seasonal collection this year.  It will debut at 3:00 p.m. (Pacific time) on Tuesday, November 28.  I will post the entire collection here on the website with links to the Etsy shop.

Poppy is ready for all of her holiday engagements in this day dress in festive plaid cotton voile.  The fitted, boat necked bodice is in contrast to the voluminous skirt, made fuller by layers of red shimmer tulle.  The dress comes with a set of three holiday brooches, each with a magnetic back that allows you to use them on all of your favorite holiday fashions.

Just in time for the release of this fabulous Tinkerbell Poppy Parker, Riley Blake Designs came out with a group of fabrics called Never Land.  This cotton print depicts the island of Never Land and its well known attributes like the forest trees, teepees, stars, moons, arrows, a compass, even Tinkerbell herself.  The colors are periwinkle, jade green, aqua, lavender, and chartreuse on a cornflower blue ground.  The classic swing coat is lined in lavender silk and has iridescent faceted glass buttons.  A tiny sparkling dragonfly brooch sparkles on the collar.  The accompanying party dress has a boat necked bodice in the same lavender silk as the coat’s lining.  The skirt is made from lavender English net with a deep embroidered hem.  Eight layers of tulle give the skirt plenty of volume.  Overall, the perfect outfit for our favorite fairy.

Those who know me well know that I adore otters, so when I found this fabric I had to have it.  River otters are among the most playful and social animals and this is well represented here as they dive and slide among the floating water plants.  The sweetheart bodice has a pleated band that stretches under the bust and over the shoulders as straps.  Bodice is fully lined in cream silk.

As winter approaches, snow is in the air.  This dress is made from ice blue cotton printed with pearlescent white touched with silver.  The print depicts woodland creatures such as foxes, raccoons, deer, and snowy owls, in a frosted landscape.  The sweetheart bodice has a pleated band that stretches under the bust and over the shoulders as straps.  A lovely winter dress for the holidays.

When I was a very little girl and still wrote letters to Santa, I asked for the same gift every year; a kitten.  I never received one (we had 2 cats already), but I always imagined that if I did receive one, it might be like the sleepy kittens in Christmas stockings in this charming print from Dear Stella.  Two kittens, one grey and one orange, are nestled into red Christmas stockings with festive patterns in white, on a blush pink ground.  The sweetheart bodice has a pleated band that stretches under the bust and over the shoulders as straps.  The bodice is fully lined in cream silk.  The full skirt invites twirling by the tree.

A darling Japanese print makes up the coat of this ensemble.  The print depicts scenes of Alice and the people and creatures she encountered during her adventures in Wonderland, interspersed with roses, keys, and other significant objects.  The colors are black and white with pops of red.  The coat has a front pleat on each side and a shawl collar.  It is fully lined in red silk and has red faceted glass buttons.  The accompanying dress has a red silk boat necked bodice, matching the coat lining.  The full skirt is made from black tulle embroidered in red and decorated with a scattering of crystals.  Layers and layers of black tulle give volume to the skirt.
