A lovely print in shades of turquoise and aqua, touched with gold, makes up this coat fashion.  The swing coat is fully lined in Tiffany Blue silk dupioni.  Turquoise pearl buttons decorate the front.  A gold crown brooch (removable) adds sparkle to the collar.  The sheath dress has a Tiffany Blue silk bodice with a ruched bust.  The turquoise print makes up the skirt.  A dark turquoise belt defines the waist.

I also submitted a design in the advanced design competition at this year’s Integrity Toys convention.  The challenge was to design a fashion inspired by the early 1960s.  I chose the year 1962.  The silhouette in evening wear at the time was high waisted, with a bell shaped skirt.  Sparkle brocade was popular, as were large bows with fringe.  The boat-necked bodice is made from aqua and silver brocade.  The bell skirt is made from aqua silk woven with silver.  A bow in the same fabric decorates the high waist.  The auction includes the gown and the diamante bow hair ornament.

This fashion is being modeled by a Poppy Parker doll on a Monogram body.  It will fit Nu Face, Poppy Parker, Silkstone Barbie, Monograms, and similar dolls.

I submitted this fashion as my entry at this year’s Integrity Convention Design Competition.  The challenge was to make an outfit suitable for office cocktails in a 1960s advertising agency.  How could I resist?  And I won Judge’s Choice!
