Fashionably Floral Silkstone arrived today and, as is customary, she got a new dress.  The tiny floral of the Liberty of London fabric is in shades of rose, bright pink, lavender, and lilac.  The dropped waist bodice has a pleated band of lilac silk that defines the bust and then goes over the shoulders forming straps.

This lovely fabric got so much love in the Rockabilly party dress, that I made it in the new wiggle style as well. But I continue to modify this pattern as I go.  This time, I used my tried and true strapless sheath, which is all one piece, instead of a bodice and a skirt.  I think this gives the wiggle dress a cleaner, more form fitting line.  I also used red silk for the pleated bust band.  The dress is fully lined in black silk.

Using the same bodice and strap pattern as the Rockabilly party dress, this sheath has the close fitting pencil skirt of a wiggle dress.  The fabric is white cotton with turquoise polka dots.  There is just a hint of stretch in the fabric, resulting in a nice fit.  Fully lined in white silk.

A classic silhouette from the 1950s, this dress has a sweetheart bodice, full skirt, and pleated band that defines the bust and transitions to straps.  The fabric is a lovely polished cotton in black with a print of wild strawberries, flowers, and cherries.  A dark red tulle underskirt gives the flirty skirt fullness.

Victoire models a lovely gown made from Liberty of London cotton in a print called Tatum.  The background is rose pink and is full of flowers in various shades of pink and mauve purple with touches of sage green and butter yellow.  The silk capri pants are made from iridescent mauve silk dupioni, as is the hand fringed silk sash.

Muffy models a party dress in raspberry silk and white tulle embroidered with flowers in shades of pink.  The dropped waist, strapless bodice has a ruffle of raspberry tulle at the bust, highlighted with tiny pink beads and pearls.  The full skirt is made from white tulle embroidered with flowers.  The skirt is given fullness from multiple layers of raspberry tulle.

I tried this dress pattern out a few weeks ago in polka dots and am now branching out into other prints.  This happy fabric is the work of one of my favorite designers, Tone Finnanger, whose fabrics are under the brand Tilda from Norway.  The white fabric is splashed with large pink peonies and I thought it was perfect for the Rockabilly style I am going for with this dress.  The sweetheart bodice is defined by a pleated piece of fabric that goes under the bust and over the shoulders as straps.

A delicate party dress in Tiffany Blue.  The full skirt is made from tulle finely embroidered with white bows and scallops.  Many layers of pale blue tulle give fullness to the skirt.  The dropped waist, strapless bodice has a band and bow detail at the bust.  In white silk, of course.  What else, to finish off a Tiffany package?

This is one of my favorite laces and I was finally able to get some more of it.
