This suit is made up of a classic sheath dress with a boxy jacket, a style that was popular in the early 1960s.  The fabric is pure silk brocade in rose pink woven with darker pink flowers and white leaves and vines.  A dark pink band and bow defines the waist of the sheath.  Opalescent faceted white buttons mark the front of the jacket and a matching brooch sparkles on the collar.  A bright pink flower hat finishes off the ensemble.

On gloomy winter days, I love to use unusual color combinations.   Indian silks come in such exotic combinations of shades, resulting in shimmering iridescence when the fabrics catch the light.  These two sheaths are made from especially beautiful silks.

The Lemongrass sheath is made from a silk woven from yellow and turquoise blue, resulting in a lovely shade of green with blue iridescence.  I covered this silk in turquoise and silver lace, to bring out the blue highlights.  A silk bow decorates the hip.

The Sunset sheath is made from tangerine silk woven with hot pink, resulting in a rich, exotic orange highlighted with pink.  The lace overlay is bright pink and silver.  A sunset orange bow decorates the hip.

Those who know me well know that I am obsessed with French Macarons, those colorful, delicate cookies that are quintessentially French.  They come in every color of the rainbow and taste like heaven.

This fabric, imported from Japan (the Japanese also adore Macarons) is scattered with colorful macarons.  The coat is fully lined with raspberry silk and has violet pearls as buttons.  An Eiffel Tower pin decorates the collar.  The accompanying sheath dress is made from cream embroidered silk, with a lavish bow and sash detail in rich violet silk.
