The “Mannequin Mavens:” A collaboration from the creative minds of Hilda Westervelt and Maryann Roy.

Maryann Roy and I love to collaborate on projects, so when I pitched the idea of doing a line of One of a Kind dolls, Maryann was as excited as I was.  We premiered a collection of 8 dolls at the Barbie Convention last week.  One was in the Raffle Room, one was in the Silent Auction, and 6 were for sale.  This beautiful girl is the last of them and we are now offering her for sale to our online customers.

Midnight Rendezvous
This dark haired beauty has a seductive gaze, with dark blue eyes, and stylish white lipstick.  Her jet black hair has been swept up into an elaborate beehive, decorated with a diamante bow hair pin.  Her cocktail gown has a black silk, dropped waist bodice.  The bodice is defined by a band of sapphire blue silk.  The full skirt is made of black, point d’esprit net lace, embroidered with sapphire flowers.  The flowers are hand beaded with tiny jet and sapphire beads for sparkle.  The underskirt if multiple layers of black tulle with sapphire glitter that shines through the lace.

This tiny floral print in shades of pink was first printed as a Liberty scarf in 1966, but has since become available in Tana Lawn.  This fabric is as light as air and creates a beautiful, voluminous bubble skirt.  The off the shoulder, dropped waist bodice has a ruched bust embroidered with tiny pearls and pink beads.  A raspberry pink silk bow belt defines the waist.

This fashion fits Victoire Roux, Silkstones, and FR2 dolls.

This dramatic print “was designed by Gillian Farr, a member of Liberty’s studio in the 1950s. It plays on Liberty’s history with its Japanese style cherry blossom. It was brought up to date for Autumn/Winter 2008 and went into the Classic Tana range of 2011.”

The full skirted hostess gown is open on the side to reveal the bright green silk dupioni trousers, which picks up the green centers of the cherry blossoms.  A vibrant pink hand-fringed sash gives a pop of color.

This fashion fits most 1/6 scale fashion dolls, but the trousers may not fit the broader hipped dolls like Severine and FR2.

A stunning print in shades of pink and olive green makes up this dramatic hostess gown.  The full, floor length skirt is open on one side to reveal slim trousers in dark olive green silk.  A raspberry pink silk sash with hand fringed ends brings out the dark pink in the print.  Perfect for summer entertaining on the patio.

This fashion fits most 1/6 scale dolls, but length of the gown will vary by height of the doll.  Trousers may not fit dolls with wider hips such as Severine, Lalka, or FR2 dolls.

A stunning and unusual lace is the feature fabric of this gown.  Blush pink tulle with a subtle gold shimmer is embroidered with flowers and three dimensional pink feathers.  Six layers of pale pink tulle give ethereal fullness to the floor length skirt.  The dropped waist, strapless bodice is made from blush pink silk taffeta with a coordinating band of darker blush taffeta.  A large bow with a gold and crystal buckle, and trailing hand-fringed tails decorates the hip.

A lovely, feminine party dress in shades of blush pink.  The dropped waist, strapless bodice is made of pale pink silk, highlighted by a band of darker blush pink silk.  The ballet length skirt is blush tulle embroidered with roses.  Layers of blush tulle give color and fullness to the skirt.
