En Vacances in Vintage Liberty of London

Posted on

I bought this fabric at a small shop years ago and do not know the name of the pattern, but it is a classic pattern of twisting vines, flowers, leaves, and fruits in shades of blues and greens on a white ground.  The style is a breezy boat necked sundress with a full skirt that is split in the front, revealing capri pants in jade green silk that is woven with pale pink, giving it a beautiful iridescence.  A bow belt in the same green silk adds interest to the waist.  A knotted head scarf in the print keeps every hair in place.

This fashion fits Silkstone Barbie (Classic and Articulated), Poppy Parker, and Victoire Roux

En Vacances in Liberty of London Lodden

Posted on

Lodden, one of the great arts and crafts textile designs of the past, was revived for Liberty’s Autumn/Winter 2007 collection. It was originally designed by William Morris in 1884, but was made into Liberty’s own design by rescaling and recoloring.   This colorway has shades of purple, pink, grey, and yellow.

This breezy summer style consists of a boat necked sundress with a full skirt that is split in front to reveal the silk capri pants underneath.  The pants are made from a dusky amethyst silk, which is picked up by the bow belt at the waist.  A knotted head wrap keeps every hair in place.
