Rockabilly Dress in Cat Lady

Posted on

This whimsical Rockabilly dress is in a Cotton and Steel print called “Cat Lady,” a fabric printed with lazy, lovable felines doing what they do best, in shades of teal, dark green, and persimmon.  The sweetheart bodice has a pleated band that stretches under the bust and over the shoulders as straps.  A full skirt invites twirling.

En Vacances in Liberty of London Thorpe

Posted on

The print Thorpe was drawn up by the Hayward studio in 1968. The dense small floral design is reminiscent of Liberty’s 1930s floral prints and a mixture of these will have provided the inspiration for Thorpe. Thorpe has been a part of the classic Tana Lawn line since 1979 and comes in a wide variety of colorways.  This particular colorway is predominantly red, white, and blue with touches of grey and green.  Now that summer is almost upon us, I wanted to introduce some fashions with a patriotic flair.

The fashion features a sundress with a split skirt revealing dark red silk pants.  The red silk is also used in the bow belt at the waist.  A knotted headscarf keeps every hair in place while enjoying fun in the sun.

This fashion fits Silkstone Barbie (Classic and Articulated), Victoire Roux, Poppy Parker, and Vintage Barbie
