I was very drawn to the colors of this fabric; a deep teal blue/green with an abstract foliage design in dark blue with pops of sulfur yellow.  Although the suit is a classic 1950s silhouette, the fabric makes it modern.  The jacket has bracelet length sleeves, a nipped in waist and moderate peplum.  The broad collar is decorated with a sparkly owl brooch.  Teal pearl buttons decorate the front.  A sulfur yellow silk bow belt defines the waist.  A pencil skirt finishes off this classic suit.

The formal lines of this classic suit are softened by the vibrant cotton floral fabric from which it is made.  I had only a scrap of this fabric, so this is a true one of a kind ensemble.  The colors are so happy; bright yellow, pink, and green pop on a white ground.  The jacket is narrow at the waist with a flared peplum and sleeves are bracelet length.  The round collar sports a tiny enamel handbag brooch.  White faceted buttons decorate the front.  The slim pencil skirt completes the look.
