Strawberry Thief is the most enduring of artist William Morris’ designs. It was inspired by the thrushes he saw stealing fruit in the kitchen garden of Kelmscott Manor, his country estate in Oxfordshire. This particular color way is especially vibrant in shades of blue with pops of vivid green and magenta. The boat necked bodice has a ruched cummerbund in parrot green cotton lawn. The full skirt has layers of bright green tulle for added volume. A tiny potted strawberry, handmade by a talented artist from Thailand, is included.
