Update from Bellissima Couture

Posted on

Greetings from Bellissima Couture! It’s been quite a long time since you have heard from me regularly. First, I was making fashions for the Barbie Convention for several months. Then, I contracted Covid at the end of the Convention. I have been sick with Covid and other secondary infections, for 6 weeks now. I haven’t been able to sew. The fashions I have been listing are left over from the Convention.

I have a half dozen commissions to finish up, but I’ve decided to make a change in how I do things. From this point, I will no longer be accepting commissions. I also will not be making multiples of fashions. It is my hope that by making these changes, I can relieve a great deal of stress in my life and prevent long wait times for commissions in yours.

As always, thank you for reading my blog. I appreciate you all.

  1. Hi Hilda,

Lovely to hear from you, not so lovely to hear you have been so chronically unwell. What a nightmare. Hope you are well on the recovery road now.

That convention was dynamite, I’ve heard of many attendees who caught COVID, alot of the Aussie contingent caught it. Guessing it’s inevitable when you get large groups of people together in enclosed spaces.

I honestly did not know you did Commissions, but given how in demand your creations are I think you are wise to take it a bit easier and only do what you can. There is no point in being so stressed that you cannot enjoy what you love to do.

So good on you of having the strength to make that tough decision. Your health is way more important than any doll dress. Although can I say the pleasure and joy your doll creations have given me over the years are like a medicine in themselves.

    Sending love and wellness wishes.

  5. For some reason I can’t comment on WordPress, but I just wanted to say I’m so sorry that you’ve been so stressed. I understand that you need to do what’s best for your health. And hey, OOAKs are much better than limited editions, right?! Take care of yourself, sending hugs and prayers. ________________________________
