About

Grant a Wish, 2011

I started sewing when I was in high school and mostly made gowns and formal dresses for dances and parties.  When I lived in New York City I used to walk by the Vera Wang bridal showroom every day on my way to work.  Along the side of the building there is a series of small windows in which were displayed 1/4 scale wedding dresses.  I was utterly enchanted by this and I think it may be the reason that I started making miniature couture.  Actually, I started out in this business by replicating people’s wedding gowns in 1/4 scale.  In 2007 I began sewing in 1/6 scale and this is where I found my true love.    This site is a place for me to share my new fashions and any news in my life that might be interesting to my friends in the doll world.

      • Nov. 7.. Hi Hilda, Yes all 3 of us are planning to attend both GAW and
the National convention in Garden Grove.
I love the new coat and dress plus the gorgeous flower hat you just had on Facebook. I would love the set in a teal or aqua shade…
no rush and if you have one something like that at GAW save it for me, please.
I do plan to get to the hotel on Thursday. A bunch of us went out to Beni Hana’s for dinner on Thursday last year.. would love for you to join us if you can.
I will make the reservations the week before the convention… so you have plenty of time to make a decision.
I know you are being very successful at your sewing projects. Love seeing your things with Mary Ann’s in the magazines. Love the pattern with your logo on it.
Cynthia wants me to make her a copy, but right now the FDQ is hiding from me.
        See you in the Spring.
        Jackie

    • Hi John, yes I will be at GAW and will do room sales and also have a table in the sales room. I do some commission work when I have the time. Mostly I offer fashions on the blog and at conventions. Love to Joanne.

I just saw your fabulous mah Jongg dress on a Facebook mah Jongg site and was inspired to look further.. reminds me of the fabulous clothes made by Elsa Schiaparelli for the Virgo dolls in the 1950’s.. your dresses are divine..my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter will be getting some of those someday when she appreciates couture ..

  7. Hello,

I was trying to find an email address to contact you directly, but I didn’t have any luck. I was curious to know if you did commissioned work as I would like a custom item made. Please let me know if this would be possible. Thank you!
