When we first moved to Oregon we met our neighbor’s black cat Frasier. He took an immediate liking to us and would accompany us on all our walks, keeping pace in a stately fashion. Soon, he started spending all his time at our house. A few years ago, Frasier disappeared, no doubt a victim of coyotes, but I miss him every day. He is one of the best creatures I have had the privilege to know. I like to imagine him in a beautiful garden with lots going on and grass and flowers for hiding. This fabric depicts all those things, including chickens and a greenhouse.
The dress has a boat necked bodice. Navy blue grosgrain bows decorate the shoulders and an enamel daisy brooch shines. The full skirt has layers of pale yellow tulle.
Also included is a pot of sweet peas that climb a small wooden trellis. Beautifully made by hand (not by me).

If you can believe it, the bulbs are already popping up here in the Pacific Northwest. Trees are showing buds and birds are chattering. This colorful coat ensemble captures the underlying excitement of new life stirring in the ground and in the trees. The coat depicts branches bursting with buds and bearing colorful songbirds. The colors are grey, lilac, pink, moss green and orange in a turquoise blue ground. The coat is fully lined in bright pink silk. Buttons in rose quartz decorate the front. The accompanying sheath dress is made from moss green iridescent cotton.

This is a very special dress that I co-designed with Rebecca Berry of Inside the Fashion Doll Studio. It was the event fashion for our special event Swellegant at the Integrity Toys Convention in November. I promised I would make a few more for those who couldn’t attend the convention.
The skirt depicts the silhouette of the New York City skyline in shades of charcoal grey in an ombré effect, as if at dusk. Dozens of Swarovski crystals sparkle like the city lights that begin to twinkle as the sun fades. The neckline also sparkles with crystals.

The bodice is made from pale pink silk with a high boatneck decorated with a double stranded trompe l’oeil necklace of crystals and bows. The skirt hits at knee length and is made from lace over 16 layers of tulle.
