Who doesn’t love purses?  I love this cotton print of brightly colored vintage handbags on a cream ground.  The shawl collared coat is fully lined in raspberry pink silk.  Rose pearl buttons decorate the front.  The pale pink silk taffeta party dress has a raspberry pink silk band at the waist and raspberry tulle underskirt.

One of my favorite prints, this Asian cotton features a sophisticated combination of chocolate brown, kingfisher blue, turquoise, and olive green, touched with gold.  The shawl collared coat is fully lined in kingfisher blue woven with coppery brown, for a delightful iridescent finish.  Copper hued faceted buttons decorate the front.  A full skirted party dress in chocolate brown silk taffeta has a wide band of kingfisher blue silk at the waist.  Turquoise tulle peeks out at the hem.

I also submitted a design in the advanced design competition at this year’s Integrity Toys convention.  The challenge was to design a fashion inspired by the early 1960s.  I chose the year 1962.  The silhouette in evening wear at the time was high waisted, with a bell shaped skirt.  Sparkle brocade was popular, as were large bows with fringe.  The boat-necked bodice is made from aqua and silver brocade.  The bell skirt is made from aqua silk woven with silver.  A bow in the same fabric decorates the high waist.  The auction includes the gown and the diamante bow hair ornament.

I submitted this fashion as my entry at this year’s Integrity Convention Design Competition.  The challenge was to make an outfit suitable for office cocktails in a 1960s advertising agency.  How could I resist?  And I won Judge’s Choice!

A gorgeous silk tussah in garnet and sapphire makes up this classic suit.  Tussah is woven from a mixture of silk fibers giving it a beautiful texture and shimmer.  Fully lined in navy blue silk taffeta, the jacket is ornamented with tiny faceted sapphire buttons.  A sparkling diamante brooch (removable) decorates the collar.  A navy blue silk bow belt defines the waist.  A tiny pleated organza flower hat is the perfect finishing touch.
