Wedgwood China is a distinctive French Blue color with white or cream accents, and is the inspiration for this extravagant suit. 

The fabric is a French blue silk dupioni decorated with cream passementerie, a tiny cord twisted into a delicate pattern of leaves and flowers and sewn in place with small stitches.  Creamy pearls decorate the front of the jacket and a large cream silk satin bow nestles in the small of the back.

This is a very special and unusual fabric and I have a limited amount.

This bubble dress is a frothy, pale pink treat.  A shimmering, tight fitted rose silk bodice with a dropped waist is in marked contrast to the lush, textured skirt of pale pink tulle and chiffon roses.  The neckline is a halter style with a large bow and brooch closure.  The brooch is Swarovski crystal with a large rose pink stone surrounded by smaller opalescent pink stones.

Have you heard that Mad Men is returning April 7th?  Are you as excited as I am? 

In honor of this momentous news I have made a nifty little 1960s style suit with a slim sheath and cropped boxy jacket.  The fabric is a very special navy blue figured silk crepe from Japan.  The bodice of the sheath is a divine Liberty of London floral print, which is also the lining of the jacket.  Four covered buttons decorate the front of the jacket, which has a perky round collar.  A bow belt at the waist in acid green brings out the colors in the print and is a sharp complement to the navy blue.

Although I love pink all the time, I especially love it at Valentine’s Day.  When the weather is cloudy and cold, what better way to brighten your day than with a little pink?

This romantic party dress is made from a lovely pale pink silk damask with a woven pattern of roses in silvery white.  The bodice is a halter style with a bow and brooch detail.  The brooch is rose Swarovski crystal surrounded by pale pink opalescent stones.  A dropped waist flares into a full skirt with a pale pink tulle petticoat.

I have been wanting to make a suit for the stunning Evening Gown Silkstone for a while now, and bright pink was the color I wanted for her. 

Here she is, modeling “Pretty in Pink,” a suit in luscious azalea pink silk brocade woven in a tone on tone houndstooth pattern.  The jacket of the suit has a shawl collar that frames her face and a flared peplum that flatters her tiny waistline.  Black faceted jet buttons decorate the front and a black silk bow belt highlights the waist. 

A slim pencil skirt finishes the ensemble.

Many of us dream of receiving a little blue box with white satin ribbon, the iconic colors of Tiffany & Co.

As soon as I saw this striking blue silk, I was reminded of Tiffany & Co and was inspired to make this elegant party dress.  The dress is strapless blue silk with a full skirt and sweetheart neckline. 

A sparkle white tulle peeks out from the hemline.  A white lace over blouse is trimmed with a blue silk band and bow. 

A band hat with flowers is the perfect accent.
