A Change

Posted on

Hello My Friends,

First of all, I want to tell you how much I value all of you for your support.  When I lost my job a few years ago, I was able to turn to my sewing to make a living.  You are the reason that I was able to do that, and I am so grateful.  Over the last year, however, I have overextended myself and gotten very bogged down in making multiples of the same fashion.

I am  changing my way of doing things from here on out.  Up to this point, I have taken orders for multiples of a fashion.  But from now on I am going to limit each fashion to one.  That means that I will be able to offer fashions with more frequency and variety.  It also means that you will not have to wait for your fashions to be made.  The first person to pay for the fashion will have it shipped to him/her the next day.  If there is a lot of interest in a fashion, I will consider making it again at a later time and would be happy to add your name to a list.

Those of you who have placed orders already, no worries. They will be completed and shipped in the next few weeks.

I appreciate your understanding and hope that you are as excited about this change as I am.

    • I made OOAK fashions for years, but not much at all lately. It will be nice to get back to that again.

      • Hi Hilda,

I’ve never introduced myself to you, I don’t think. I am great friends with Brenda Visaya, who is my mentor. Also great friends with Dawn Anderson. Your friend, Rebecca, has subscribed to my Blog – we have talked back and forth a bit. But I have never really “chatted” with you yet. Hope you don’t mind me “advertising” my new Blog (that I just started this year) on your Blog!! I am trying to get word out there that I have one. Lol I am NOT a competitor of yours at all!! I do not sew for the Silkies – yet, anyway. Ha! Ha! Ha! I only sew for the original, vintage Barbie – and am relatively new to that having only been doing it for about two yrs. now.

Just wanted you to know that – and also wanted you to know that I am in awe of YOUR fashions!! Maybe one of these days I will be able to snag (and afford) one of your fashions for my Silkstone Barbies. 🙂

Nice to finally be able to meet and chat with you. Have fun sewing the OOAK fashions!! I only like to do one of each as I get bored doing more than that. I rarely do commission work either as I like to be able to create and do what I want!! I am sure you do, too!! Have fun now!! I look forward to seeing what you come up with next!!

        O.K., TTYL!!

    • Thanks so much, Tracie. I am going to try to post something new every day. If there is a style that people really respond to, I will make similar things, or variants in other colors, etc.

  3. Will there be a set time during the day when you will be posting your fashions for sale, just so I can be on the look out. Thanks.

    • I could post a little note on Facebook, Julia. Are we Facebook friends? I don’t usually have a fixed time. I am posting 3 floral dresses tomorrow afternoon, maybe around 3:00?

      • Just sent my FB request 🙂
Was wondering because of the time difference and to know when to take my work break during the week to check your blog 😉

Always looking forward to your beautiful fashions.
