When I saw this new fabric from Liberty of London called Lotta, I recognized immediately that the ladies were wearing Regency period dresses and I imagined that the Bennett sisters were visiting the park and gardens at Pemberley. The fashionably dressed ladies interact with wildlife that one might expect to find at a grand English estate, such as deer, rabbits, peacocks, and the like. I was delighted to find that the fabric was created by Lotta Nieminen, an illustrator and graphic designer from Helsinki, Finland, who researched garments from her favorite BBC show “Pride and Prejudice.” After finalizing the characters she went on to create something for them to wander in. A flower and animal filled garden seemed appropriate so that the background also interpreted patterns found on clothing in this era.
This lovely sundress has layers of pale blue tulle, giving fullness to the skirt. A French blue silk taffeta band an bow defines the waist.
This fashion fits Silkstone Barbie, Poppy Parker, Victoire Roux, and FR2
